Our beloved Robert Downey Jr. is making a comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) – but not in the way you might expect.
Over nine MCU movies, Robert has been seen wearing the iconic Iron Man suit, but now, he will be stepping into the role of Doctor Doom in a new movie title “Avengers Doomsday.”
Avengers Doomsday will hit the theaters in May 2026, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo who have previously direct four Marvel movies.
Robert Downey Jr. upcoming movies such as “Avengers Doomsday” will replace the previously announced “Avengers The Kang Dynasty” in the MCU release calendar.
Before Robert, Jonathan Majors was to star in “Avengers The Kang Dynasty” in 2026. But, he was dropped by the studio after being found guilty of assault and harassment in a 2023 trial.
