She commented, “I don’t want to compete with Rebeca no more. I’m tired.” “She’s way too close. I’ve never had an athlete that close, so it definitely put me on my toes, and it brought out the best athlete in myself.”

Though Simone Biles wins the gold in women’s gymnastics all around, Andrade’s performance was nothing short of impressive. Her rhythm and artistry captivated not just the audience but her competitors too. Her consistent performance was a sight to behold until a penalty on her final floor exercise. 

Rebeca Andrade has made history by becoming the first South American to get a medal in the individual all-around event at the Tokyo Olympics, and she continued to impress in Paris.

Suni Lee’s Comeback for Bronze

Initially, Suni Lee was not in the spotlight but her steady performance on the floor exercise was outstanding, pushing her from a tie for fourth place on the podium. 

After she completed her first competition, fans could see a huge smile on her face. She celebrated with Simone Biles wins, both draped in American flags – simply enjoying the moment. 

For months, Suni Lee was battling a kidney infection and other injuries that kept her out of competition, so this bronze medal was significant for Lee. 

She said, “I really didn’t think that I would even get on podium, so it’s just like crazy that I was here and I did everything that I could.” “I went out there and I just told myself not to put any pressure on myself because I didn’t want to think about past Olympics or even trying to like prove to anybody anything. Because I wanted to just prove to myself that I could do it because I didn’t think that I could, but it’s taken a lot,” she added.

The final rotation saw Kaylia Nemour of Algeria, Suni Lee, Rebeca Andrade, and Simone Biles for podium spots. but we all now Simone Biles wins. This was happening while the Italian gymnast Alice D’Amato watched anxiously. In the end, Biles and Andrade fought for the title of the world’s best gymnast, delivering a competition that epitomized the spirit of the Olympics.
